William Minter is the editor of the Substack blog AfricaFocus Notes. His latest book, None of Us Is Free Until All of Us Are Free: New Perspectives on Global Solidarity, edited in collaboration with Imani Countess (forthcoming from Africa World Press).
Last week was an experiment: a selection of highlights from the much shorter notes, with links, that appear up to 2 to 3 times a day on the website, but are not sent out by email. The open rates for this selection were comparable to that from other posts, which feature substantive excepts with a common focus. So here is another one. There is too much for any of us to keep up with, but I hope you will find some of my selections useful to you as well.

Iconic Malian musician Amadou Bagayoko dies at 70
It is not yet available by streaming, and there is no distributor in the USA yet willing to represent it. But Cathy and I were fortunate enough to see it this morning at the non-profit Avalon Theater in Washington, DC.
